Kurt Tolivaisa, PE

Kurt grew up in a small town in Massachusetts, about 30 miles south of Boston. After high school he attended the United States Military Academy and graduated in 1985 with a civil engineering degree. For the next nine years he was a U.S. Army officer in the Corps of Engineers, with the 20th Engineer Brigade at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and the 802nd Engineer Battalion at Camp Humphreys, Korea. His last assignment was with the Los Angeles District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. In 1994 he became a project manager and department manager for construction materials testing at Converse Consultants. Over six years there he managed residential, commercial, and public-works projects and trained technicians, special inspectors, junior engineers, and project managers. In 2000 GeoTek hired him as a project manager for the same kinds of projects. He later became Las Vegas branch manager and a vice president. He is a registered professional engineer in Nevada and Virginia. He plays golf and follows Boston professional sports teams.
