Mr. Solberg started his career as a CAD drafter for and electrical engineering company. Moving from there to a structural design firm, he took on more responsibilities as he learned the trade and starting doing field inspections. Quickly obtaining certifications in concrete and steel inspections he moved to Las Vegas to join GeoTek in 2003. Moving up through the ranks from office personnel to ACI Technician supervisor to Special Inspection Supervisor, he took on more roles in the field and office to better GeoTek as a company. Obtaining more certifications as he went, he became a Certified Welding Inspector through AWS, learned Non-Destructive testing and became GeoTek’s level III NDT through ASNT. Spending more years in the field, the office was calling, and he became GeoTek’s Quality Manager, helping with the Clark County annual renewal, International Accreditation through IAS and making sure our communication with the different jurisdictions and offices was open. Moving on from there, Mr. Solberg spends most his time in the field, doing inspections and ensuring projects are running smoothly.
Mr. Solberg’s project experience ranges from single family homes to arenas, including bridges and multi-story buildings. Some of the most notable projects are: Arizona Grand Canyon Skywalk, several bridges at McCarran International Airport, including the only steel bridge there, Streamline Tower in downtown Las Vegas and the Coyotes Arena in Glendale Arizona. Many medical building and hospitals were done, including an addition at Mountain View Hospital and Sunrise Hospital.
