Harvey W. McHugh, PE graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in the spring of 2014. After graduation, he relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada to accept a position here at GeoTek. In 2018, Mr. McHugh passed the Principles and Practices of Engineering exam and subsequently became a licensed professional engineer in the state of Nevada and has since acted as the engineer of record and project manager on numerous residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects in the Las Vegas valley and the surrounding area. He has also assisted other GeoTek offices with projects in Arizona and Idaho.

Mr. McHugh’s geotechnical experience includes projects with expansive soils, hydro-collapsible soils, shallow ground water, large detention basins with earthen dams up to 40 feet tall, drilled shaft foundation extending more than 100 feet below grade, slope stability analysis, and analysis of rock fall potential. He is also experienced in destructive testing, nondestructive testing, and forensic evaluation.
